Fertility Assessment To Help You Better

The reproductive process actually consists of several processes that must take place at exactly the right time with success. Any interruption of the necessary steps can have a negative influence on conception and / or implantation.

The most common fertility problems are cycle disorders, occluded fallopian tubes and weak sperm. Sometimes it occurs that sperm cells are totally missing or there is a malfunction in the interaction between sperm and cervical mucus. It can also happen that one of the partners has a birth defect.

The cause of fertility problems lies with women in 30 percent of cases, with men in 30 percent of cases and with both in 30 percent of cases. In 10 percent of the cases the cause never becomes clear.

Fertilization Process

To understand IVF well, it is important to know how fertilization proceeds under normal circumstances. Eggs begin to mature in both ovaries from the first menstrual day. These eggs are found in fluid blisters, also called follicles. Of these follicles, one follicle grows to a diameter of approximately 2 cm. This follicle then pops open, releasing the egg. An egg is 0.12 mm in size. And that is no less than 85,000 times larger than a sperm. This moment, which occurs approximately between two menstrual cycles, is called ovulation or ovulation.

The egg that is released is collected by one of the fallopian tubes that is connected to the uterus. Under normal circumstances fertilization takes place in the fallopian tubes. After the combination of the egg and a sperm, the egg moves towards the womb and arrives there after five to seven days. Meanwhile, a number of cell divisions are already taking place. Liquid accumulates in the egg cell, which pushes the cells apart. This creates a hollow sphere that attaches itself to the mucous membrane of the womb. If this so-called implantation has been successful, a thin film will come over the cell sphere, the placenta will be formed and the food supply can begin via the mother’s bloodstream. If the implantation does not go well, the fertilized egg dies and a menstrual period simply follows. Which attaches itself to the lining of the uterus?
